Hundreds of Red Deers (Cervus elaphus) roam free in the Cansiglio forest (North-East of Italy).
Fall is the mating season for these wild animals. It is easy to hear the call of the males and, if lucky, you can also see them fighting!
They are most active at dawn and dusk, when they leave the forest to get to feed on the grassland. Yet they are extremely prudent and suspicious. Not an easy task to get close!
