Life of an Arctic tern

Arctic terns fly for 80,000 km per year. Over the course of a single Arctic tern’s lifetime, it covers a distance enough to fly to the moon and back, 3 times! This is the longest migration route of any animal on Earth.

I spent hours watching these Arctic terns nesting and raising their chicks downtown Reykjavik.
