Atlantic puffins (Fratercula arctica)

Puffins are a symbol of Iceland. 60% of all the puffins in the world come to nest here every summer!

The remaining 40 % are divided among Canada, Norway and Scotland. However lately they are leaving the north of Great Britain because of global warming.

And of course because of Brexit.

Not every day you can get so close to wild animals but in this case I have been particularly lucky, as these puffins were posing just a couple of meters in front of me.

I have been laying more than half an hour on the wet grass, close to the edge of the cliff and freezing because of the cold wind.

But it has been worth it!
